There are scenarios in our lives that make us have so much excitement and leave us filled with motivation. Such scenarios may include starting your own business, getting a new job, joining the university or college, graduating from the university, and many other cases that tend to push our lives in a positive direction. At that juncture, we cannot hide our excitement and motivation. However, how can we stay motivated for another several weeks, months or years thereafter? This brings in the topic of nurturing your motivation and maintaining the same level of excitement. Make use of the following tips on how to stay motivated day in and day out.
As my good friend Cory Prosperie says Learn to maintain a positive attitude. That moment of success or scenario seems to give you a thrust in a positive direction and it is your duty to maintain this force to continue moving. We are responsible for our own attitude. This means that we can change them any time we feel like, or when appropriate. Whatever needs changing in your life can be changed because you are in control of it all. For instance, your positive attitude as an employer can also motivate your employees and make your workplace a place of happiness all the time. A happy working environment automatically yields higher production.
Always create positive affirmations to yourself. The reason as to why most businesses have their goals written down on paper is to create positive affirmations. You can go on and write down your affirmations down and keep them at a place where you can see them at least once daily. An example of a personal affirmation is something like “I know I am a valuable person”. Come up with new ones every day or every week. Whenever you feel less motivated, read them aloud to yourself because they will help you to reinforce positive actions. This technique is workable because whatever you hear and see, your mind will believe.
You need break times and utilize them wisely. Break times are meant to help you ease up that tight situation or project you are working on. Adhere to a specific break schedule especially if you are involved in a working or business running environment. Even if you cannot remember to take breaks, set a reminder on your phone or the computer you are working on. You require that break in order to release tension.
Exercise is an ugly word to many people. Those who see the ugly part of it think that exercise means spending time in a gym working out. Exercise can even constitute getting up and walking around your room, house or compound. Doing a few stretches outdoor as you enjoy the sunlight can also make good exercise. Transporting your body and mind from that working environment helps you release tension.
Finally, remember to leave all your personal troubles at home whenever you are out working or with your friends having a good time. This gives you a mental break from your troubles.
